Ashleigh and Pudsey launch ‘Crufts Factor’
This year’s Britain’s Got Talent winners Ashleigh and Pudsey have launched a new search to find the UK’s most talented dogs.
The pair, who melted the hearts of a nation (not to mention that of notoriously prickly Simon Cowell), have been chosen as the faces of the new ‘Crufts Factor’ campaign, launched by the Kennel Club. It will see avid amateur dog trainers offered the chance to show off their skills and potentially win a place at next year’s Crufts dog show.
This may not be the only benefit on offer to entrants, however, as those who are successful may also be offered a starring role in the new one-off ITV talent show ‘Take The Lead’ which is rumoured to have been created by Cowell himself to feature solely dog acts.
Owners and their pooches looking to enter only have to upload a video of their tricks to Facebook, with the best four selected to take part in a live heat during the Kennel Club’s ‘Discover Dogs’ event at London’s Earl’s Court venue.
It wouldn’t only be recognition on offer for the eventual winners, however, but potential riches too. Ashleigh and Pudsey have already been rumoured to earn millions of pounds by taking their act around the world, and the same fate could befall the winner of the Crufts Factor, keeping them in fancy designer dog beds for the rest of their lives.
Speaking to belfasttelegraph.co.uk of the competition, 17-year old Ashleigh explained: “Dogs have an amazing ability to learn all sorts of skills, so it is really exciting to see the launch of a competition that is solely dedicated to celebrating dogs and their talents.
“Pudsey has always adored performing and working with me as a team and it was great to give him the chance to show his skills to the nation. Crufts Factor gives all dogs the same opportunity.”
