Gainsborough’s luxury cattery adds flat screen television
A flat-screen television is the latest addition to the luxurious Lea Wood Cattery in Gainsborough, which is renowned for providing a high-class services to its pampered felines.
According to Thisislincolnshire.co.uk, the television was installed in the new ‘Miss Kitty’ suite, which was created at the same time of the ‘Mew Hefner’ suite. Those staying in the suites can choose a range of dishes from the ‘a la cat’ menu, nap on the comfy cat beds, enjoy Tom & Jerry cartoons or watch the fake fish living in the aquarium.
Run by Liz and Ian Burman, the cattery isn’t cheap – at £8.50 a night – but the owners do regularly hold events to raise money for animal charities. Mrs Burman explained that she simply thinks about what she’d like her cat to have at a cattery, which inspires her ideas for the facility.
“We care for other people’s pets and the suites for discerning felines have come about because I’ve been thinking of how I’d like my cats to be cared for… they really love the TV and aquarium – although a lot of people might think I’m crackers,” she said.
“But it’s very serious because we have clients as far afield as London who want to place their pets in a special environment,” she added, stating that people from as far away as London bring their cats to stay.
It isn’t just the surroundings that are luxurious either, as each cat is fed in line with his/her individual diet. According to leawoodcattery.co.uk, even diabetic cats or those watching their weight can be catered for, falling in line with the facility’s tagline – ‘Where cats come first and cuddles come free!’.
