Momo’s knack for hiding helps create photo trend
A dog owner has used his canine companion’s knack for hiding to his advantage – to create a photography phenomenon that has received worldwide coverage.
Andrew Knapp and his Border Collie Momo have made the hashtag #findmomo trend on Twitter thanks to the pair’s collection of pictures, which involve Knapp photographing beautiful scenery with Momo hiding somewhere in the image, reports mashable.com.
He said: “I love taking photos of these landscapes and streetscapes, but without a subject of a sort of quirk, there was just nothing really interesting about them. With Momo in them, you’re forced to look at the photo for at least a second or two.”
The trend has been likened to the celebrated children’s book series ‘Where’s Wally?’, as it is sometimes a bit of a challenge to find the pooch. Knapp only discovered his dog’s talent for hiding in plain sight when playing fetch – with the pet waiting very still until a stick was thrown.
Dog owners may be encouraged to try the same thing when letting their own pet off their dog harness, although they may not be able to achieve the same artistic effect as Knapp, who is a graphic designer, according to dailymail.co.uk.
The photographer originally made the pictures as gifts for young family members, but he may now turn the collection into a book.
