PATS Trade Show 2012
PATS Trade Show
We have just exhibited for the first time at the PATS (Pat & Aquatic Trade Show), this seems to be the main pet show in the UK now and they have this one in spring at Sandown Park followed by one later in the year in Harrogate. Whilst we saw a lot of customers they were predominantly from the South of England and it was disappointing for the enquiries to be so regional.
Surely what this industry needs is one main pet show based in the centre of the country so it was accessible for all. Spring is historically the time of year when buyers from pet shops and garden centres place orders of new products to sell through their stores and they want to see the new lines. I just can’t see trade accounts from the North of England, Wales and Scotland travelling all the way down to Surrey its not feasible.
The main pet show Pet Index whoch used to be based at the NEC in Birmingham has just announced that it is finishing so now is the time for the organisers of PATS to see some sense and ensure that a good quality event is put on for all accessible to the whole industry. Certainly the prices we were charged for stand space was no cheaper than stands at the NEC so I can’t really see this being a factor.
I think the industry should unite and ensure that common-sense prevails, lets see one large Pet show in the centre of the UK. Whats your view on these PATS trade shows?
