Pet picnic benefits charity
A picnic for dogs and their owners has raised funds for an animal home in Hampstead.
The Gaucho restaurant hosted a ‘Doggy Sunday’ to raise money for the Mayhew Animal Home. The restaurant charged £35 a head, for which dog owners were treated to a three course meal. Of course, the dogs were not forgotten and tucked into a meal of their own, hamhigh.co.uk reports.
The event was given a beach theme, complete with a doggy sandpit, an exclusively-canine paddling pool and each pooch was even provided with a goody bag to take back to their dog beds at the end of the day.
The Mayhew Animal Home in Kensal Green received £5 for each person who attended the event and extra funds were raised through a prize raffle.
Events officer for the animal home Lisa Houlihan told kilburntimes.co.uk that they were delighted when they heard that the home had been selected as the beneficiaries for one of Gaucho’s infamous Doggy Sundays.
Ms Houlihan said: “It was very generous [of Gaucho] to host the event in our honour and also invite some Mayhew staff, and canine representatives, along to enjoy the day. So much fun was had and we can’t thank the restaurant enough for supporting our charity in this way.”
