Sentinel launches the ‘Pet Idol’ fun day
Our local newspaper The Sentinel is running its first ever dogs only Pet Idol Show and fun day. It is being hosted Sunday 6th July at Hanley’s Central Forest Park from 11am until 4pm.
The event has been organised by the Sentinels event organiser, Steph Brannan. She explained her excitement for the weekend, “We are all excited to be involved in this event. This is the first time we have organised something like this, but we are confident it will be a real success. There has already been so much interest shown in the event and we would like to turn this into an annual thing. I am looking forward to seeing some pictures of exotic pets too. Unfortunately, as Sunday’s event focuses on dogs, we are unable to accommodate bizarre pets on the day.”
There will be several stalls and plenty to do for all the family including a stall from the well known Veterinary Clinic in Newcastle, The Croft who will be on hand to answer any questions you may have. Vet Jenny Proctor said: “We are looking forward to promoting the positive aspects of pet ownership, having fun and raising money for local animal charities.”
With this day, the Sentinel is running a competition called Pet Idol. They are asking you to send in pictures of your beloved family pet and the general public will vote for their favourite. To enter the Pet Idol competition, please send your snaps, along with your name, age, address and contact details to The Sentinel via Facebook, Twitter or the email address firstname.lastname@example.org.
Good luck to everyone who enters, and we hope everyone who attends has a great day. Hope to see you there!
