Spice kittens go global
A litter of eight-week-old kittens have become an internet sensation, reports lifewithcats.tv.
The four kittens – Basil, Mace, Sage and Pepper – have been nicknamed the Spice Kittens and gained over 18,000 followers on the live events website Livestream.
Their foster dad set up a webcam to record their antics and has been broadcasting 24 hours a day since the kittens’ birth on 5th October, allowing internet fans to view the little stars in their cat beds among other places.
The family has been so popular, they’ve even got their own Facebook group, Friends of the Kitten Cam.
Their foster dad, John Bartlett says: “Originally, the Kitten Cam was just so that i could keep an eye on the kittens and see how they’re behaving without a human in the room.
“But then I got to thinking that why not make the Kitten Cam available for anyone to watch at any time?”
The dailymail.co.uk claims that there are between 4,000 and 7,000 viewers on the website watching what antics the kitten family are up to.
John Bartlett has fostered more cats in the past but his Kitten Cam has only recently been a big hit saying: Limited to the lowest quality and having ad overlays, the viewer count never grew very high and frequently was in the single digits.”
But when Livestream announced a new service that didn’t have adverts, John seized his opportunity and revealed that the viewer count has been increasing ever since.
According to the dailymail.co.uk, the kittens’ foster dad has also been told that his Kitten Cam has helped people through difficult times in their life such as losing a pet or a family member.
