Sponsor a Guide Dog puppy this Christmas

If you are stuck on a present for Christmas or perhaps are simply feeling generous at this festive time of year please consider sponsoring a guide dog puppy.

Once you sponsor the puppy of your choice, you will receive a cuddly toy guide dog puppy, regular updates on your puppy, photo album with photos of your puppy, a personalised certified confirming sponsorship of your puppy and an exclusive calendar for the year ahead.
The Guide Dog Association state that every hour in the UK another person goes blind which essentially means they need to train more guide dog puppies for when people need them.

There is a huge demand for guide dogs but each and every dog must be trained well for a long period of time from being a puppy so the association can link a dog with a blind person and know they will enhance their lives helping them do simple tasks they would not be able to do without the dog such as crossing the road. They are such an important part of a blind person’s life and without your help it would be impossible to provide so many people with a guide dog.

You can choose a one off donation or set up weekly payments to help the association care and train guide dogs and in return to get to see for yourself the journey the puppies go on to become the caring dogs they are.

It takes two full years for the puppies to become a fully trained guide dog and able to aid a blind person through the crucial stages and steps of life successfully although they will still have regular visits from a mobility instructor to ensure everything is going well.

All of this costs money and whilst the association gains money through fundraising events and donations, if you feel you could sponsor one of their new puppies this would be a huge help. It can all be set up easily online by visiting their website.
