Top model to join dogs on the catwalk for charity
It has been revealed today that top male model David Gandy will help take part in a ‘dogwalk’ for the Battersea Dogs and Cats Home’s annual ball, fashion.telegraph.co.uk reports.
The model – who became the charity’s first ambassador in March – will host the event and walk alongside some of the dogs from the home at the Collars & Coats Gala Ball on November 8th. He will be joined by co-host, fashion journalist Hilary Alexander – who is a long-time supporter of Battersea.
Dog grooming equipment may be needed to make sure the pooches look their best, as they will be modelling accessories from some of the fashion industry’s most famous designers – including Stella McCartney, Phillip Treacy, Vivienne Westwood and Julien Macdonald.
Claire Horton, who is chief executive of the animal home, told yourlocalguardian.co.uk: “This will be the most wonderful and unique fashion fundraiser and we know our dogs will really enjoy it.
“We can’t wait to see Battersea dogs groomed and dressed in canine couture by the most influential and iconic designers from the world.”
All proceeds from the event, which will include an auction of the dogs’ clothes and accessories, will go to the famous rescue centre.
