Zak the retriever rescued from crevice on New Years Day
Zak a golden retriever has been found safe and well after going missing for 48 hours on New Years Day. He was fortunately found in a beauty spot in Shipley Glen, West Yorkshire after wondering off and falling into a deep 6ft crevice.
After Zak’s owners failed to find him they put an appeal out on Faceboook and another dog owner who knows the area decided to join the search and came across him wedged about 6ft down and well and truly stuck.
It took firefighters nine hours to drill through rock to reach the stranded dog but thankfully apart from some bruising and he now is back to his normal bouncy self. More than 40 people gathered at the scene and cheered and applauded as Zak was finally freed.
Now Zak plans to rest up on his favourite dog bed and recover from the ordeal.
