Animal Charities In Crisis

The recent Covid -19 is having a major impact on animal welfare and rescue charities across the UK. The Association of Dogs and Cats Homes generated feedback from its members who reported they were struggling to cope with pressure on funding and staffing levels during the pandemic.

Many of its members almost 95% said coronavirus was having a negative impact and almost half did not have the resources to last for 3 months and were warning of possible imminent closures. Over 60% of its members have had to reduce their staffing levels and 54% have had to stop taking in any new animals.

Even though the country is still in the grips of lockdown animals need rescuing in fact possibly more than usual as families struggle to find the money to meet their pets food and vet bills. The animals already in care still require feeding and exercising each day and there are fewer people able to travel and help.

If this situation continues these vital pet charities could ultimately close which would be a tragedy forĀ  the nations pets. We urge anyone reading this to pass it on and share this and of course donate if they feel they are able to do so at the following donate page www.adch.org.uk/donate
